大阪府生まれ。現在、アメリカのニューヨークとニュージャージーを拠点に活動中。2022年ニューヨーク市立大学院スタジオアート修士課程（MFA）を修了する。 写真を中心に、さまざまな素材を探究し平面や立体作品を制作。 主に潜在意識と経験の記憶に焦点を当て、思考の融合の物語を表現する。 過去の苦しみや思い出を再現するのではなく、回復力、癒し、そして希望を探究し、心を通して自由を再考し表現するための作品制作を続けている。

Mika Okada Ascari

Mika Okada Ascari was born in Osaka, Japan and is currently based in New York and New Jersey.  She graduated MFA in Studio Art from The City College of New York in 2022. Mika is an interdisciplinary artist who employs photography, sculpture and painting in her projects. Mika’s work focuses on the subconscious mind and explores experiential narratives.No matter how hard we try to instill the idea that there is beauty in the normal, we will tend to forget about this once we repossess our regular bodily functions—as I did. As an artist with a firsthand experience of grave loss, I seek to spread the importance of simplistic awareness through my work.
